What’s new in sustainable finance?

Nature Action 100 has established a Science Council of 11 experts to guide its initiative to address nature and biodiversity loss, ensuring scientific rigor in its activities. Co-chaired by Marco Lambertini and Sharon Brooks, the council will advise on biodiversity conservation, helping to align public and private investments with nature-positive practices.

The European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) published a report calling for enhanced supervision to combat greenwashing in the financial sector. They stress the need for accurate sustainability claims to protect consumers and investors. The ESAs recommend stronger supervisory measures and global cooperation to address greenwashing risks.

The ESMA published its final report on Greenwashing, following the European Commission’s request for input on “greenwashing risks and the supervision of sustainable finance policies”. The reports contains recommendations for NCAs as well as for the European Commission and actions to be taken by ESMA in order to avoid further greenwashing.
