Carbone 4 is the leading independent consultancy specializing in low-carbon strategy and adaptation to climate change.
Since 2007, our common goal has been to help you understand the world that's taking shape.
Constantly alert to weak signals, we deploy a systemic vision of climate and biodiversity issues, and are committed to accompanying the necessary technical transformation with a human transformation. We apply our rigor and creativity to help you become leaders in the climate challenge.
Founded in 2007 by two experts in energy and climate issues, Jean-Marc Jancovici and Alain Grandjean - joined in 2017 by Laurent Morel - Carbone 4 is the benchmark consultancy on energy and climate issues.
Its name refers to France's objective of dividing its GHG emissions by a factor of 4 by 2050, compared with 1990 levels.
Our vision
Climate drift and resource scarcity are major factors in the disruption of societies. This context creates collective responsibilities and constraints, and is also a potential source of movement.
Future scenarios vary considerably depending on the paths we take in the coming years.
The companies that will exist and succeed in the future will be those that integrate energy-climate issues into the heart of their business model today, make informed choices between economic and physical indicators, and bring to the table resources and skills commensurate with the stakes.
This new situation calls for us to move beyond short-term management and business-as-usual perspectives, and develop a strategic vision aimed at increasing resilience and adaptation, while contributing to the collective effort to reduce emissions.
