La Tribune : Climat : les banques françaises passeront des stress tests l’an prochain

30 November 2019

La Tribune recently published an article on the Banque De France’s latest announcement on climate change. The central bank of France decided to follow the Nederlandsche Bank (Netherlands) and the Bank of England (United Kingdom) and to proceed to an assessment of the resilience of French big banks and insurance companies to climate risks. This announcement arrived shortly before the publication by Les Amis de la Terre France and Oxfam France of their report “The colossal carbon footprint of banks: a matter of state” on financing and investments granted to companies in the coal, oil and gas sectors.

The article reminds that Carbon4 Finance developed a methodology to take into account these ‘financed’ emissions and thus identify the associated transition risks for the banking sector.
